An Evening Spoken in Flavor
A Valentine’s Day experience by Scratch Test Kitchen
Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful.
This is an evening created for people who want to slow down, sit with each other, and let the moment unfold without performance. An experience shaped by pacing, care, and attention, where food carries the emotion and the table has room to breathe.
I approach this night the same way I approach all intimate dinners, with restraint, focus, and respect for the space I’m invited into. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is overdone. Every element is considered so the evening feels held, not produced.
An Evening Spoken in Flavor is offered as a limited private dining experience over Valentine’s weekend, February 13 through 15.
The evening is designed to be intimate by nature, with the room held intentionally and without excess.
Guests may experience the night at the chef’s counter, an intimate four-person setting where the work unfolds up close and the pace is guided moment by moment. It is a quiet place to sit, watch, and be present as the evening takes shape.
The chef’s table offers a larger shared experience for up to eight guests, centered around conversation, connection, and a slower rhythm. The table is meant to feel communal without feeling crowded, allowing space for the evening to unfold naturally.
The experience itself may take the form of a guided five-course tasting, thoughtfully paced and composed, or the room may be reserved entirely as a complete buyout for those seeking full privacy and focus for their time together.
Each option is approached with the same care, intention, and respect for the moment. The difference is simply how the room is held.
For couples, partners, or companions who want to share time without needing to perform it.
For people who value craft and feeling, and who want the experience to carry the weight so they do not have to.
February 13 through February 15.
Availability is limited, and each evening is shaped individually.
If this feels right, reach out and we will talk through the details together.
